It is with sad hearts that we let you know that a few weeks ago Living Hope made the decision to cut ties with Mac, Gavyn, myself, and HeartChange. If you have questions about the details of their sudden and unexpected decision, we’re happy to answer any questions privately. Our hearts go out to the HeartChange community and others who bear the shock and pain of this decision. We know in this world we will face trials of all kinds, but we don't lose heart because He has overcome the world. (John 16:33) Please do not gossip - about us or about Living Hope. My desire is unity, love, and forgiveness. I can honestly say that I am thankful for the 3 1/2 years of doing HeartChange and other ministry at Living Hope, and still love them despite their choices.

If you desire to help support Ian & Mac financially during this time, please use the link below (or go to our website/app, go to “give” and select “staff fund” and “Ian McIntosh”). They are unable to collected unemployment, because the church does not pay into that system, and the severance they received has already expired. Please know that there is no expectation that anyone do this. We’re just providing the opportunity.

However, this announcement has to do with the future, not the past. We are excited about what God is doing. This obviously brings a few changes:

First of all, our regular Tuesday night URCH group is moving. We don’t know our ultimate landing place yet, but for at least the next while, it will be 7827 NE Hwy 99 Vancouver, WA at the same time (7:30). This will be starting tomorrow,  Tuesday, 2/27.

Secondly, we’re finding a new home for doing workshops. We have several strong leads, so please be in prayer that God opens the doors He wants open. Feel free to talk to your church leadership about whether God would have them host a workshop at your church!

Thirdly, our board of directors met a few days ago and we decided to experiment with adding a regular weekend gathering to our list of ministries. It would be a lot like a HeartChange Sunday, with a few twists. The worship will be more rehearsed and led, and the teaching will not be Gideon :-). There will be a time of open sharing, where people can share (in first person) what God is doing in their hearts/lives. So it would be a time of ministering to each other, like the body we are (Colossians 3:16). This will be a service that’s open to the public.

So…if you know of a location that could house such a gathering, please let me (Ian) know.

I often say in workshops that change feels like loss. That’s very real to me at this time. But I also know that God is up to something incredible. We’re definitely out of our comfort zone recently!

In His Love,
Ian McIntosh
